Anyone have a good all purpose rub recipe that they would be willing to share? I have tried quite a few commercial rubs, but they all seem to be so salty that the meat ends up being too salty. The other thing is commercial rubs are so expensive. I have tried a few times to make my own, but have not come up with anything that me fired up.

Like Tom said, try searching on "low salt rub" and see what you get. With 100,000 plus responses, it's likely to have been discussed.

Learn to use the "advanced" search page, there is a lot of useful info and you can refine your search to the specific forum (say ribs) and get lots of details.

You could also buy Paul Kirk's book or some of the others that talk about rubs and use that to help make your own.
