I with Tom on the original Kingsford's and letting the smoker warm up first won't hurt any on producing a nice smoke ring. A guy might want to try a couple and take good notes. The next time try 3 and take good notes.

Heck he might realize that the product tastes better if he leaves them out and worries about cooking the meat properly...but I would never discourage someone from trying to cook something to see for himself...it just might lead to making a feller a better cook.

No Max, they were not. Perhaps that was the reason I didn't get that DELICIOUS smoke ring?
