Does anyone know if there is a difference between the smoke mode and cook mode as far as smoke produced on the FEC100 with IQ5 controller, and also in the hold / rest mode?
Perfect, Thanks! Long time user of both a 120 and 100, just never knew if there was a difference since they call the modes by different names. Good to know.
Smoke slows the fan down creating more smoldering and smoke. This should be for low temp use only.
Cook and Rest both run the same algorithm So.... if you want to run at 180 for 6-8 hours to lay some smoke on a brisket... use smoke... if you want to cook at 250-275... use the cook and rest modes for that... (rest can obviously be used to hold at a lower temp too)
That's all.. Sorry for the confusion I was misinformed in the past...
