Smokette- Interior seams

I do not recall that the floor has a contiuous weld but I have not had any leaks what so ever either. I am guessing that that will be the same reply from others as well.

Agreed. Besides theres not that much grease that actually runs down the sides, it drips off the shelves to the floor or the firebox.

Interesting question though, although I have never seen it mentioned here before.

If you have specific welding questions, just call CS. They'll explain.

However, that being said, because the smoker has insulation, any bad welding would cause moisture to get into the walls and ruin that and I've not heard of one case of a welding problem.

They've been making these for over 30 years, so I'm pretty sure they've got it down.

But call them I know they'd be happy to explain.

Exactly my point. The only smoker of like size that I can view around here (upstate NY) is a Masterbuilt unit that a friend owns. This is what prompted the question because the seams on his unit are very sloppy and seemingly ill fit. I won't even go into the door seals on the masterbuilt. I have been busy reading hundreds of old posts here but so far nobody has even mentioned a bad unit case.

Axel, we're all pretty well convinced of the quality construction of a Cookshack smoker...at least on this forum...but you, me, we all have to do whatever research we need to in order to come to what we think is an intelligent decision.

I think you'd benefit from looking at some of the studies that Dave Naas has conducted on Cookshack smokers. Look at his website www.charcoalstore.com and I think click on 'tips and tricks' to get to some of his commentary. Tell us what you think. Pretty much reading those was the clincher for me. I wouldn't worry about it. You posted about welds and the elements (different post) so sure, it's a significant purchase.

Not once has it come up so I wouldn't be overly concerned.

If it's an issue, call CS.
