Yall gotta try this!Peel about 6-8 turnip roots and place in smoker oven with 3oz hickory for good smoke.Get it smoking before adding the turnips roots.The roots only need maybe 3 minutes of smoke.Take them out and keep on side till you peel a medium size rutabega and dice it into half inch pieces.Use fresh veggies or cans for the rest of the veggies.I brown and drain 2 pounds of ground chuck,add to my 26 qt pot,add rutabegas carrots maybe 1 can sliced or 5 med carrots,can of purple hull peas,can of niblet corn,can of green lima beans,can of english peas,can of green beans,add turnip roots,add 2- 46 oz cans of v-8 juice and 1- 14 oz can of beef broth,4 cups water and slowly bring up to small boil and keep stirring or it will scorch on ya.As all veggies are getting done I chop up 1 head of cabbage in slices and add to pot.Let simmer till cabbage is done and serve.I also sprinkle Tony Chacheres Creole seasoning in my serving bowl for extra taste.I cannot believe how the smoke on the turnip roots adds so much flavor to this recipie!EnjoySmiler
