This waiting is killing me!

Hi all new to the forums - just bought my first Cookshack smoker - sm025 and am waiting on delivery! Its killin me!

I have used various other smokers - a Brinkman, and a propane model as well but totally spoiled when my friend let me borrow his SM076 for several months. What a great machine! Well finally decided to get my own - a more reasonable sized model just for home use.

Smoked goodies next weekend for sure!

While you wait, read up on SmokinOkie's 101's - brisket, pork butt & ribs. Don't forget to season your new smoker.

There's oodles of great info to be found here. The "find" tool is a terrific way to search out subject matter. Meanwhile, don't be afraid to ask questions here...there's a lot of experienced pros eager to help.

I'm right there with you. Ordered my SM025 from Cabela's on July 11 and am still waiting for them to arrive from CS - almost three weeks later.

Cabelas said they expected them 7/7, then 7/27, now 8/4. Maybe CS is THAT backed up.

Or maybe they're just getting us used to the idea of patiently waiting for great bbq.

Keep the faith.

After waiting a month for the Cabela's backlog, I finally canceled the order and ordered from Charcoalstore. Shipped the next day and I got it two days later (yesterday)!!

Seasoned it last night with a couple chunks of hickory (from the lightest 5-lb box I've ever seen) and hope to send it on it's virgin voyage with a pork butt tomorrow.

WOO HOO!!!!
