I've done some searching on this topic but thought I'd throw it out there again. I'm looking for a vacuum sealer that's faster vs the Foodsaver I use at home. Google has pointed out a few including the CG-15 from Cabella's...which one of our forum members gives thumbs up on.

Any other recommendations on the CG-15 or other vacuum sealer? Would like to keep it under $500.

Thanks!

Like Max says.Ribdog may be traveling and not check the forum for a week.

The product could take some discussion that pertains to restaurant,or high volume, and strange sizing.
The purchase levels might be prohibitive for personal use.

I'm sure John would have no problem linking the forum to this.

My guess is that his discussion has been covered in the FIND with other larger users.
Here is my response that I PM'ed to Maxque:

To me, the two machines are essentially the same mechanics wise. The CG-15 seems to have a few more doo-dads on the face of the machine. Other than that, the primary motor is exactly the same. The unit I use is more like the Cabela's Pro Series Sealer. But I would rather have one of the ones you are looking at as mine can only take up to a 12" wide bag. The CG 15 can take up to a 15" wide bag.

Are you using this in the kitchen or do you plan on using it to sell product to the public? If you are selling to the public, be careful and check with inspectors first to see what type of machine they require.

Hope this helps.
Another thumbs up for the Cabelas CG-15. I've been using mine for about 3 years without any issues. The original seals and heat tape are still in tact. I really like the 15" wide bags, I seal up trimmed briskets for competition in the large bags.

Cabelas does put them on sale from time to time and with the hunting season coming up you can be sure they'll have a sale soon. Watch the ads.
At the Cabelas in Kansas City they have refurbished CG-15s in the Bargain Cave for less than half the regular retail price. Not sure if they will have them at other Cabelas locations, but I thought I would mention it here, in case anyone else was looking for one. I picked mine up today.
