I have finally found a spot for my new 008. It is enclosed in an extension off of the garage and I saw some pictures of installations..which for the life of me, I can't find again. I remember one of the smokettes had been installed with a dryer vent that came right down to the vent in the top of the unit. It seems that Tom or someone had cautioned that you needed an air gap to prevent the unit from overdrafting and possible causing a fire in the unit. I assume this would be due to a chimney effect.

Does anybody have any information on this? It would be nice to vent the unit outside, although having my car smell like ribs does not seem all that bad to me, but my wife is not real keen on the idea!

Is it necessary to have some sort of air gap even if the ducting is not augmented with a fan setup?

Thanks for any information.
