Knowing that I maybe banned for this, you need to relax about fires. Coincidental with CS starting to build the FEC 100, Traeger changed controller manufacturer. The new manufactuer's controllers did cause fires. Traeger went back to its original manufactuer ant he contoller fires went away.

the case will withstand a fire. The gasket will burn out but the case will remain intact. If you still are worried, put a double walled pipe if the uniy is inside. If a dirty pit caused a fire mine would have flamed years ago. Ask anyone who has seen it. Just relax and cook your que.
