greensih - gray "gook" laying on top of my brisket?

Have my 008 for years and never experienced this before... I opened the door and saw a disgusting sight... a "puddle" of greenish - gray "gook" on top of my brisket.

The wood is definitely seasoned. I also let my wood smoke a bit before putting in the meat so that I see WHITE smoke coming out. If it isn't a nice clean looking smoke, I pull the wood and start again.

The 008 looks fairly clean, as I scrape it down every so often.

Any thoughts?
