Reply to "LHt/HHt 101 - Temp Control on the PG1000"

Thanks for getting back to me. I have had this grill/smoker for about 1.5 years. My previous pellet smoker had a fire in the delivery tube and I was done!!! Upon research, I wanted to get something that did not rust. I am on the West Coast near the Ocean and all non steel BBQ's rust quickly. So I search s/s smokers and cookers. This came up. It seemed a reasonable price for all stainless. Upon reading reviews I took a chance.

That being said I was not used to pellet grills as smokers and used them more as cookers. Our temperatures are moderate to cold in the winter and moderate to hot in the summer (not too hot). Upon using the smoker I saw a lot of temperature swings. I read and read. I adjusted and adjusted. It seemed out of control. Overall it could swing 50 degrees or more. I was frustrated and decided not to use it for a while.

In the last week I discover the Cookshack Facebook site. One individual posted a chart.

It then led me to to site where I discovered the forum as well as this Post. So now I am more intrigued.
