Hah! Agree about the ability of the fridge to take up flavors. I also have that issue when I make Lap Yuk (cured Chinese pork belly, what I call "Chinese bacon"), which cures uncovered on racks in the fridge for a week. Luckily the odor is really pleasant and it tends to dissipate quickly.
