Did you happen to get the end of the probe that plugs into the board wet? If so fire up your oven and toss the probe in for a maybe five minutes and try it again. It will steam the moisture right out of it.

I had that happen to me when I was washing the probe I dropped the wrong end in the sink and got it wet, it worked for me and I pay more attention to which end I am washing now.
