Decided to try some tests rather than just shut it down.
Set at 225°, climbs to 257/259°, which is really 270° according to my ThermoPen®, I have seen other posts that theirs goes to the high limit and shuts off. 270° is too high for ribs in my opinion, may have to opt for the Pit Barrel tomorrow.
Will keep monitoring it for a while to be sure.
