Still having some temp swngs, st at 224 and it goes up to 238 then back down, i keep hearing people say theirs stays within a couple degrees of their set temp? Myth ? lol

Doc.

Going up 14 degrees is "overshoot" and happens because it's throwing in pellets.

It usually happens after the door is opened and it's trying to stabilize the temp.

When I set a temp and don't open the door, it stays at temp. I Never noticed an overshoot because I haven't opened the door and I'm asleep.

During the days, and after I open the door, it happens, but it always stabilizes back to the set temp.

And in the BBQ life of the meat in the smoker, 14 degrees won't ever be noticed.
