I have gone through three different inverters that were modified sine wave, and all of them made my LED screen flicker. I finally decided to buy a Xantrex RS400 Sine Wave inverter and transfer switch.

I spent last weekend testing the operation, and cabling in my battery box. The unit did not cause any flickering of the LED screen, would start the FEC-100 w/igniter, and the transfer switch worked flawlessly. I had my FEC running, and I unplugged the extension cord from the inverter, and the transfer switch converted over to the battery, and the FEC LED didn't even flicker.
My configuration is the AC power to the Inverter/Transfer switch, and the FEC is connected to GFI outlet on the Inverter. The Inverter is connected to a Marine 12 volt battery. The AC line also feeds a 1.5 amp trickle charger that maintains a full charge on the battery.
Have a good day.
