I didn't do that event. I was, however, at the Bucs game Sunday (second game we have done). Anyone out there know what the problem could be? Hundreds of people walk by, but hardly anyone stops. We had great specials (hot dogs buy one get one free), we handed out 300 flyers, sodas and water only a buck, and still nothing. We only grossed 125 bucks total and were there before and after the game. Don't understand it.
Alan,
Did you give out flyers before you got there? Maybe to places that football types frequent? I don't do football, so I'm not good on the type place. If you could find out the motels that are booked with fans, maybe that would help. Try calling the motels and asking if they have a special rate for fans and if you can book a block of rooms? If they say they are sold out, or can give you just a few rooms, maybe that is your place. Just an idea.
I hope things get better soon.
Peggy
Football games are probably tough because of tail-gating. Everyone there is a tailgater--they cook there own food and give out LOTS of free food to other folks. Tail gaters are VERY proud of there food and it is, for some, what a game is ALL about. Cooking out and getting drunk. Just my two bits. Hard to sell food when everyone is cooking there own and giving it out for free.
