I had planned to use this cover to store the FE outside. The cover appears to be designed more for cooking in bad weather than outside storage, with the area around the exhaust opened up.

Anybody have any good ideas other than another cover of some sort, to keep the elements from blowing in the exhaust while not in use?

Thanks KP.

Another question for the group. Was thinking of making something for the bottom of the auger where the electronics are, in case rain splashing was heavy. Thoughts on this one? My thoughts were some flashing with a hole for the power cord and then either bungees or a stand to keep it tight against the bottom. Possibly add some foam on the inside to further seal it off. Is this overkill?

Yes, this is for when the unit is stored and not running.

Just some words that I think Eddy will clerify for us. I used my FE last weekend along with a Traeger 075 and my large stick burner to cook two large hogs (butchered and cut up in 4-8 lb chuncks) for a benefit dinner for a local girl that was in a bad car accident. Anyway, we had some heavy rain Saturday morning so we put trash bags over the hopper units to help keep the rain out. We were having trouble keeping the temps up on the pellet burners. I think what was happening was the Augers (underneath) could not get sufficient air to run properly with the trash bags covering the auger units. Could I have caused any damage to my unit doing this? Seems to work fine now... Toad Hollar
