Hi again fellow Q'ers

My Am-Q is due to arrive today. I will be leaving work early today to get home and hopefully catch the UPS driver for the signatuire in time.
This is a great forum for information, but after reading just about all of the differant recipies it can get a little confusing. It seems everyone has a differant method to smoke the same thing. Same goes for the recipies. Oh well if everyone was the same, life would be a little boring.

My friends at work think I'm a nut because I'm so excited about my smoker and doing Q. Maybe it's because smoking and Q ing is'nt that popular in Buffalo NY.

Take care until the next post,

Louie-Q

When you get your AmeriQue smoker up and running take some yummy Que to work I bet there atitude will change.

They may all want a cookshack after you show them how easy is to operate.

Better yet don't show them let them think you have to attend to it all day they may appreicate the fruits of your labor more.Big Grin

Well, BBQ isn't about recipes, it's about technique/method and MOST importantly -- FUN. If you're not having fun at it, why do it? That's why there is so much difference. And if you did exactly what they did, it might or might not work out for you.

Key is to recognize the method they're trying and flavors, but don't concentrate on it like a cake recipe and do EXACTLY what they say (well, unless it's me) Wink

You'll learn quickly, develop your own flavors and whenever there is a question, just ask away.

Good luck with your AQ.

Smokin'
As soon as I internalized what Smokin' says above, my smoking improved significantly. With your first few cooks it's helpful to follow a simple recipe and keep things simple. After that, you'll want to change things slowly to suit your preferences.

Read the opinions on this forum, find those whom you come to trust, and cook, cook, cook.
