Battery/Inverter pics

Thanks for posting this. Fast Eddie states this is the way to create consistancy in performance from their FE's.

This will be my next purchase.

This si the preffered method for contest cooking for sure. It's nice and quite and it has good constant voltage. When we are at cookoffs the temp service we usually get is awful and creates lots of problems. If you have a good gennerator thats fine but get a volt meter and make sure it's working properly. Tom your doing the right thing by testing your equipment before you spend all that time and money going to an event with it.

Nice set up Tom. I have the same rig I've been using for 6 Mo. in contests. Works perfect. The stick burners hate it when I turn out the lights and crawl into my sleeping bag with out a worry in the world.

I have Costco for the battery, but Where is the best place to pick up an inverter, and what should I expect to spend? And being a total airhead in these matters, is there anything special I should know about inverters before I buy one?

You can probably pick one up at Target or Radio Shack. Also car audio places carry them. They run (I am guessing) 20-$50. The only thing you need to worry about is that the wattage. Since the FE needs 300 watts total it will be really easy to find one. Just make sure it is rated for 300 watts or higher.

They had them at Costco where I live - it was by Coleman and had a case. You can probably get the charger there too.

God, I love Costco!

Might checkout GI Joes's. I know there are several around Portland. Just picked up a great marine deep cycle battery, a 1200 watt inverter and a nice 2/6/12 watt charger. Ready for testing this weekend when I do some superbowl cooking.
