I'm sure most of you are familiar with the product.."BBQr's Delight"..wood pellets.
I just visited their website and was amazed at how many flavors were offered.
I was very interested in "Black Walnut"
My question is ...Has anyone ever used this product in a 008? If so , did you just measure out 3 or 4 oz. like you would with a wood chunk? Also, how did you like the results?
Thanks for any input you may have on this question, I look forward to hearing from you folks.

hungry,
while we haven't used the black walnut we do use the pellets in peggy's sm150 every week. what we do is measure 2 ounces of the pellets and put them in a aluminum foil ball with one tiny hole poked into it. it will smoke for about 2 hours. i even wrote a little table so i can make the sm match my fec100 for smoke taste and time for really large cooks.
hope this helps some

I did black walnut a few years back and for some reason it seemed like a cross between pecan and hickory.

I did a boston butt last weekend using apricot wood and it was fabulous. I am going to start looking for a source of citrus wood and try that and see how it goes...seems like with all the groves here in florida may have a lot of sources for that. Only trouble is due to citrus canker they may restrict access and transport of citrus wood.
