has anybody used this brand-Branch Creek out of Newton KS? this is the second cook that I have used them, the first was a month ago when it was 2 above zero and the ash was unbeleivable, I was thinking because of the temp outside the wood was soo cold it took longer to burn. today it's 74 deg and the ash is still unbeleivable. I have ash on my ribs and i have had to stir my fire pots to get them to clear out to continue burning. The pellets I used before these were the traegers i got with the smoker,(FEC750) and didn't have any problems with them at all. has anybody used this brand and experienced the same problem?

The quality of pellets make a differance. Branch Creek originaly made bbq pellets to go in a tin can to be placed in gas grills to add flavor to grilling with gas. They grind limbs to make into pellets. Most MFG of wood pellets get there wood from a kiln dried source of saw dust. This produces a much cleaner grade of fuel. Also I feel the Best BBQ pellets are a blended pellet with a base of oak. Oak burns extremly hot and it is very low ash in a kiln dried state.
