Buying lump charcoal in PA?

One suggestion is to go to the BGE site. They sell a very good not to strong lump charcoal in my estimation. I'm sure you can find some at a local dealer for them. I first started out with them and since have found some others. Each lump seems to have it's own flavor characteristics.

Check out "Royal Oak Charcoal" at Sam's or Walmart. In my opinio it's much better than Kingsford.

Thanks HT... We have a dealer aabout 1 mile from my house. I'll check, but I am pretty sure they don't have lump. But my brother has a bigger dealer near him, so I will have him check.

Lowes has some charcoal but it seems to be made of wood scraps, say from a cabinet shop or something. Not very big lumps or chunks, the last time I bought some at cabelas it wasn't to bad.

I'm sure you could use a road trip to Cabela's, heck i think everyone could.

If you have a Gordon Food Service (GFS) near you, they carry 20lb bags of Royal Oak Lump and it is cheaper than you can get it at Wally World.
