After a few months of waiting I finally ordered and received my Model 50. I have had great success with Brinkman water smokers and doing offset grilling, but nothing can compare to the results I have gotten out of the Model 50.
After seasoning, I made 3 slabs of mouth watering ribs. Two days later we cooked a chicken. On Friday night I put in a 7 pound butt, followed by 4 chickens the next day. We had a big croud for dinner, and the good news, nothing was left, the bad news, they took it all before I really got to enjoy any of it.... Guess next time, I will make two butts and save one for myself.
For anyone considerring a cookshack, my advice is save up and buy the Model 50, you will need the space, and two you will not believe the results.
Finally, I am looking foward to making my first brisket. We have a family rub we have used for years. I will try to post some pictures as I go.
