I've had great luck using both Cookshack pellets and BBQ Delite pellets in my FEC-100, so I decided to try Cookin Pellets 100% Hickory last weekend and I was surprised by the mild flavor.

My thought was being 100% Hickory vs. a blended pellet it would be stronger in flavor but that was not the case. Anyone else try these and have similar thoughts???

you didn't say what the wood was on the other pellets. but hickory is a mild smoke next to mesquite or red oak. and if you were using a blend of pecan or cherry would have been missing a little sweetness too.. I find different pellet size matters even within the same brand. I always get nervous when there smaller or to large.. good luck and keep posting your results.sp
Thanks Screaming Pete, just to clarify I'm talking Cookshack Hickory vs. BBQ Delite Hickory vs. Cookin's Pellets Hickory.

The Cooking pellets were slightly longer than the others, but no problem going through the auger. They tasted fine, just much milder smoke than the other two brands.

I like trying new brands, but need to figure out what to do with the excess of pellets. Currently adding handfuls to my fire pit!
