After much debating and back and forth I decided to take the plunge and get a CookShack model 55. I am upgrading from a gas bullet type smoker and I am really looking forward to it.

I don't expect the 55 to fulfil all my smoking requirements, but for ease of use and great results with long slow and delicate smoking I expect it will be an invaluable part of my outdoor kitchen. Any shortcomings will be nothing a Weber can't remedy after all.

Glad to be on board!

Hi, Robbi,

We are very glad to have you here. Many of the forum "old-timers" (and I know I will pay dearly for using that term) are talented and experienced bbq chefs. This is a friendly group, and very generous about helping Cookshack newcomers. Even if you are experienced at smoking you may have some questions specifically pertaining to your new Cookshack smoker, and this is a good place to ask those questions.

From time to time we make special price offers to the forum that do not appear elsewhere, so keep your eyes out.

Welcome,

I have had my smokette about 3 weeks and have done baby back ribs, spareribs, 2 briskets, boston butt, and a chicken. All have turned out perfectly thanks to the smokette and the advice I have read by lurking around in this forum. I can't believe how good of a cook the smokette makes me. It's almost like the ronco thing on TV ... "Set it and forget it".
