Cookshack is TOPS on my list!! 2 weeks ago, we cooked at Winter Q in Great Bend. 98% of the time, I will take my small shop vac and clean the ash out of the fire pot, but after the last cook I didn’t get time. So while setting up, I cleaned it out. While doing so, I noticed an “extra” something in the bottom of the pot next to the igniter. It was a 3” steel rod. To make a long story shorter, it wasn’t the igniter. I called Tony at Cookshack in a panic and sent him a poor phone picture of it. He, of course recognized it right off, it was the “limiter rod” from the auger. (Didn’t have a clue what he was talking about!) Well the FEC started and we cooked on it as he suggested. It did what he said it would, wider swings in the temp. It woke me up 3 times during the night with my low temp alarm. We were 5th in Pork! Anyway, he sent me a new auger, NO COST, even though the machine is out of warranty. 30 minutes to put it in. We’ll test this weekend. WHAT GREAT SERVICE!! THAT’S COOKSHACK!!
