Byron Chism/Buttrub.com was kind enough to give us one of these and extol their virtues, at the Tryon cookoff.

Besides being a top comp cook,he is a Culinary Institute of America graduate and an industry professional.

Teams, vendors, caterers are always looking for ways to carry and cleanup less.

Tom, these are no longer available. Your right, they are a great product. I have been using them for just over a year now, and hooked on them. But, you can't buy them anymore... Also, to use them properly they should be tossed after each task (meat) to prevent cross contamination.

The company the link goes to, are the ones who created them and sold the distribution rights to DayDots. As the story goes, DayDots ordered a minimum quantity of these when they first won the distribution rights, and were supposed to followup with an order of 100,000 units, and never did. So, only an initial batch of 1000 (I think) units were made. I have talked to both companies... DayDots says they are trying to get them re-sourced but it could take as long as a year before they actually get them.
