You might want to call Cookshack service and talk to Tony, about that.

They don't usually monitor this forum.

An elbow going up will work but down will probably not work. I go up then out a window behind the unit at about the top of the unit. Works great and I can turn the end outside away from the wind (very important). Going down you have a hot air vs. cold issue plus you could get a draft up the exhaust from a vent below the floor. That will choke out your fire and give you a pellet mess.

You CANNOT go through the floor. It must go up. If you try it , you will mess alot of things up. Call Cookshack if you need further explination.
