Picked up our FE with most of the modifications done.

1. Removable battery base with super wide smooth locking casters.

2. Pull handles and holders on both sides.

3. Removable rack on top to hold polder and therma digital readout devices.

4. Unit is much shorter now with lower center of gravity, much easier for two guys to pickup and put in truck.

5. Still need to put a door on battery base so it can be accessed without removing the FE from the top. Need to put a piece of pipe to hold large umbrella and a couple of holddown rings by the hopper to attach tie downs to, and a beer opener.

Picture of the lower removable battery compartment. Includes two deep cycle batteries, 400 watt coleman inverter and a battery charger. Batteries hooked up in parallel, inverter hooked up to battery posts on one battery and charger hooked up to set of posts. Will remove on side of battery box and put in a door for access when the FE is on top and a partial removable drip cover on top to protect the electronics from accidental grease drips from above. Almost ready for competition! Removable battery base for FE100
Door on, plate installed on the top.

I used the inverter at the Mollala cookoff on fourth of July weekend and it worked great. Did not have a problem with overheating.

I have been running the FE pretty hard last few weeks with big cooks for large functions. Have not used batteries for this since I have 110 close to where it resides at my home.

Might take it to the Seattle PI in a couple of weeks, otherwise the nest competition outing will be at Mandalay Bay at the end of October.
