FE100 tripping Ground Fault

out of the blue my FE100 started to trip the GFS outlet. of course it was at 2 AM Christmas morning. Fortunetly I have two but it still caused extra work.
Anyway, after turning on the unit at about 1 and 1/2 minutes the GFS outlet trips. I can only assume it is the auto ignite. I never use this feature ,instead I have always used the gel

I will be calling Cookshack in a little bit but wonder if anyone else has had this problem and what wire do you cut to disconnect the ignitor?

I had the same issue a few years back and it was the ignitor causing the problem. Replaced the ignigor and no problem.

I've attached a photo from behind the panel on my FEC. The white wires with a black stripe leading into the stainless enclosure are the ignitor wires. I believe it's attached to the purple wire via a clip, which you should be able to separate.

Lost mine years ago. Use a small butane torch to light a handful of pellets in the hopper and it takes off without a large overshoot.

Mine did the same; trace the ignitor wires to where they pass through the hole and check the insulation. That was my problem, wrapped with some electrical tape and it has not tripped the GFI since.

This happened to me but different problem. I had to used an extention cord....replaced the cord hit reset on the smoker and problem was fixed. Threw the old extention cord away.
