Just got my fe1000 pellet grill, having trouble keeping the temp down, seems to always flare hot so i can't smoke at 220, it goes to 300 + degrees, andybody be able to help me out

Haven't had the problem, so can't really help with the troubleshooting much.
What pellets are you using?
So you're setting it at 220, but it always goes to 300+ or just sometimes?
If you let it go a while does it settle down?
I do have "overshoot" when it's first firing up from a clean pot with no pellets. I just open the lid and dump some heat.

Thanks for the input Okie, i think because so new that i just will have to play with it for a while
nah, just an excuse to cook more

Mine ran a little hot until it got well seasoned, now it's pretty much spot on.
