Fec 100 keeps tripping breaker?!

Mine kept tripping the breaker due to a crack in the ignitor. Give Cookshack a call and they'll probably send you a new one. They're easy to replace.

You can run with just the stump. I added a small 90 elbow on mine though. I also place an endcap on mine while it's not in use to keep critters out. Just remember to take it off before you fire the fec up.

Yup, when the ignitor has issues, it's usually the cause of the breaker tripping because it's a grounding issues and it's probably bad or failing.

Thanks for the replies so far. I was super stoked about using it today, had four racks of ribs rub down a brisket injected, rubbed and ready to roll, now their sitting in the fridge pouting!! LOL....I'll be on th phone with CS first thing in the morning!

You could also try using a "NON" GFCI plug in a pinch. You don't need an ignitor to run an FE. I've manually started them before with a blowtorch.
