Just got around to watching BBQ Pitmaster on the DVR. Interesting that the three teams in the contest were using two FEC100s and one Lang 60 stick burner. I'm very familiar with both having owned and operated both side by side.
In judging there appeared to be no difference in meat appearance and taste that would would give one smoker advantage over the other. In fact they finished:
First: FEC100
Second: Lang 60
third: FEC100
