Hi everyone, Well today will be my first day open with my concession trailer. I hope all goes well. Thanks to everyone that have given me tips. We'll see how it goes.
good luck to ya!!! we only had two customers on our first day, and that was almost 4 yrs ago. (i couldnt have opened if it were not for the help of this here form. thanks to all.) we are now averaging a hundred customers a day.
willie, i know it's been a long hard struggle for you. now go out, have fun and knock 'em dead. one word of advice for goodness sakes watch your weather forecast most importantly the heat index. drink plenty of fluids (myself i like gatorade cut with water 50/50) and drink before you get thirsty. past that you are on the road to riches!!!! can i tell people i knew you when??? jack
Good luck, Brother! Welcome to the world of long hours, ups n' downs, hard work and little paychecks . I wish you ALL the success in the world and I also hope it is ALL that you hoped/thought it would be. The latter is probably not likely--I pictured me sitting up all night, drinking beer, smoking meat and making lots of money. 1 out of 4 ain't THAT bad! Seriouosly... I wish you THE BEST! Zeb
Hope you had a great opening day and much success to you. One sentence of advice is don't prep too much food. Like coffeebluffbbq/savannah said they had 2 customers on day 1 and average 100 customer now.
Well.....? WIllie you gonna Que us isn on how everything is going so far? Well, we all hope. Please post and let us know. Zeb P.S. Geyser...good reply! I actually meant 3 out out of 4. I think I like your options of how to get out of 2 of those 3. Just need to figure out the 4th one.
Hi Everyone, Well the first two days were busy, I sold out of everything except for some ribs. I cut back on them on the second day and a friend came by after I closed and bought them from me. I am not able to be there everyday and my cell phone was ringing yesterday with people looking for me. So far, I have been Blessed. Again, I want to thank everyone for your advise and help.
yeah!!! sounds totally awesome for ya! great way to start, and hopefully, you will soon be full time at it. kate, we have a small pop. to draw from. although savannah is huge, we are off the beaten path. but, we are nestled in a residential community of a thousand houses, within a few miles. good bbq, will draw folks from several miles away. often, we get folks from out of town who heard about us and made the trip. that is best compliment ever.
We have somewhere between 2500 and 3000 in Park Falls. We also have some surrounding communities to draw from. We are thinking of giving up the flea markets and just setting up locally. Our best sales come in town. Not mind boggling, but good solid sales that seem to be growing each week. Less travel time, less fuel usage and some other points are making this option look very attractive.
I was curious as to what kind of base you were drawing from, because I read your previous post.
I appreciate your answering. It is helpful information to me.
