gents: I understand that the FE/CS has racks about 17x23 in. Can you tell me the footprint required to slide that baby under an exhaust hood -- given the protrusion of the pellet hopper? And, is it UL, NSF approved so the health dept guy will let us use it? Plus... how many pounds of pellets does it go through for each hour of smoking at around 250 degrees? Thanks.

The pellet hopper doesn't have to fit under a range hood. If there's going to be any smoke leakage (and it isn't very much) it will be out of the door only, and then mostly just the top seam.

The walls of the FE are 2" thick so add about 4" to your 23" racks and you're talking under 30 inches. Easy enough to fit under any decent hood.
Stuart,
Man that is great news about the ul nsf approval. 6 weeks just happens to be the time frame for our purchase of an fe100.

Sure am glad i went to the convention in Atlanta and talked to you guys as it is bringing our start up costs in at about $3,000 under budget.

Also thanks for the vent size. My trailer maker is cuban and hungarian team. English is a problem but man can those boys read drawings!!!
