I am a new FEC 100 owner in the UK and this is my first season using the smoker in my catering business. Can't say enough about the quality. Just did a show for 4 days and on the last day had a "little" fire. About 3 inches on the door gasket is the only real damage. Cleaned it out and it relit without any other problems.

I am posting this because I was concerned about all the talk that I read and feel that it must be said that the smoker is one tough unit.

Thanks to all the posters here that have made my life ever so easy.

By the way, this is my first love, I mean smoker and I will have no other.

I'm closing in on my 2nd year as a FEC100 owner and have never had a fire.

The primary cause is grease accumulation on the cabinet bottom, resulting from grease dripping over the edges of the drip pan, or the grease channel on the right side becoming blocked and dripping over.

Be sure your smoker is on a level surface.

Glad to hear your incident was minor.

Welcome to the forum. Cheers to all our Que'n friends across the pond Smiler
