Is this Normal?

Thats why my uneducated opinion thinks there is something wrong with the electronics. After being lit for an hour and a half it steadily gets worse until for no reason it goes from 100 degree swing to 50 degrees. ?????

Now this is more like it.. We changed everything, thermometer, auger motor, auger, 450 limit switch, ignitor.... nothing fixed it. Threw in a new control panel on Friday, problem solved.

Great to see. Hope you've become a happy camper cause that's the way it should be.

Which control panel and firmware load fixed the problem?

I wouldn't say I am happy, its still more than it should be imo, but this is more "acceptable", for a $3500 unit.

I'd say he is happy! So happy in fact that he backed out on selling it after I sold my smoker to purchase his.

This has nothing to do with it. IT has way more to do with the fact some one would be getting a brand new (all parts) smoker fixed by me, with my money over the last year for way less than it should be.

Bryan did they make you buy the new pannel? How long have you been talking with them?

The control panel as far as I know was warrantied,the rest of the parts however I have purchased.

Sure like to know how you got it done. All I have gotten from them over the past year is "We're working on it. Please give us some time."

So I have been doing some "tweaking" and am still after some better swings. I did two mods last night and got this graph, its getting better.

Also a heads up to those who have meat probes and get a new control panel. Your old meat probes will not work with the new units. Call cookshack and they will send a replacement.

Well after many nights of tweaking I think I have finally reached FEC100 temp nirvana. Here is my new graph...

Just curious what tweaks/mods you had to make to achieve this level of temp stability?
