Donna - Just a question here. Your price totals out to $1000 minus 10% (Shhhh) = $900 a ton plus shipping. Cap'n Pete got his for $715 a ton delivered. Im just curious if the bulk price of pellets has gone up that much in just a year? Petes price breaks down to $14.5/ bag vs yours at $19/bag PLUS shipping.

I get my pellets out of the warehouse out back! Biggest problem I have with my FE is it's so well insulated it doesn't burn much product. Since I'm in the pellet business, lack of consumption is a worry. Just have to cook more! I supply a number of contest winners and I'd stack my pellets up against anybody elses. (Now that paints a funny picture!) Besides, being centrally located (in Arkansas) freight is cheaper going some places, plus we get good discounts from most LTL haulers and pass that along.

Hi, cadillac,

We buy the pellets bagged from Traeger. (This is their requirement for our using their patented auger system in the FE/CS smokers.) Since we are not buying them by the ton I can't answer your question. My advice is, get the best deal you can! Big Grin

Candy is a good customer of Cookshack's and I have heard nothing but good about her company.

I'll ship 2 20# bags anywhere in the 48 states for $33.98 -- freight included. If you have a team name/catering business, I'll figure it wholesale + freight and give you the best deal I can. Sorry, eventually I'll get a web page up with this. Call me. Number's on the BBQr's Delight site.

And Papashaka makes the best breakfast in Arkansas and his beef clods are real pretty!
Can't do Jack Daniel's in 20# bags because of licensing issues. But...no reason why you couldn't put a bag of Jack pellets in the start of the cook and finish up with oak pellets. I'm doing ribs right now with savory herb pellets (oak with oregano, rosemary & thyme) Put about a pound and a half of pellets in the hopper. Figure that ought to be about right time wise. Doing these hot and fast for dinner.
Candy Sue,

Good to see you around, we've met a couple of times as shows I believe.

Actually I like the idea of starting with a particular flavor and finishing with something else.

I'm waiting for a new shipment from CS, but I'll have to get some of the other flavors from you.

Chef we should have enough pellet burners here in FL now to get a truck load. Let me know I am in Deland about an hour from you. I know Bill and the Dixie Chicks are about 45 mins from me. So if everyone goes in we should be able to get them From Eddy for a good deal.

Let me know,
Craig
