Laying fec on it's side for transport

I know several people haul there fec on it's back in a truck or trailer. My stepvan has backdoors that are only 38" wide. If i put the fec on the side with the hopper facing up it will fit. Is there any reason why putting it on it's side shouldn't work?

If you removed all the interior and padded and tied the FEC down,I don't see a problem-but I'd call CS service and ask them.

You're putting the vent side down? Not sure it can handle the weight.

Your concern is going to be the vent. I made a "carrier" that consists of a piece of plywood with strips of 2x4's running down it vertically so that the vent isn't damaged during loading, unloading or during travel.

I have never had an issue transporting it like this.
