Hey I am am about to make bacon soon. do I need bacon hooks or can I lay it flat.

I've made bacon several time by laying it flat without any problems. Finally broke down and bought some hangers, only difference I found is that you can make more slabs by hanging them.

Ive made several batches of bacon and I have always just laid the bellys flat on the shelves. The bacon has always turned out great and you can get a lot of bacon on the four shelves.

Although laying bacon down will certainly work, it's been my experience that it takes smoke on more evenly on both sides when hanging.
