one my second cook,my heat went well past the set temp, like 75 degrees, do you think the controller is ok,,, cooking a butt in the am hopefully third time a charm, also, the manual leaves alot to be desired, little help

Please give us more information. Which temp did it overshoot? Was this where you started the smoker out at or did you ramp the hear up on it?

wow again this morning, ramp full of burning pellets, lucky I looked, set at 220, went right past again to 270 , looked inside full ramp going into auger , in fact pellets in auger were on fire, seems like there is now way auger is shuting down for 55 seconds as manual says, and why doesnt temp control stop auger when temp is achieved? calling cs as soon as they open
