Vincenzo: ARe you a NY'er? I would like to open a place in the northern suburbs. There is a very large, well-known place west of Grand Central called Virgil's. They run Southern Prides... a had a tour of their kitchen. Not bad. There is a very fancy place north of Grammercy area called Blue Smoke, run by well-known fancy restaurant guy Danny Meyer. VEry pricey and less impressive, IMHO. Run's Ole Hickory pits. There is a new takeout on the west side, around 44th, called Daisy Mae's. Won't talk about his pit. Food was pretty good. There's alsoa Pearsons, uptown, I believe (east 80s?). Haven't been there yet.
