Noisy auger

Mine does that every so often and has not caused a problem. I just view it as a pellet that gets sideways or out of position and gets broken in the process of being moved along by the augur. Since the manufacturers are pretty good about knowing how soft or hard a pellet needs to be made, I would just go with the flow.

I found that if you go in the house and listen to music,it isn't noticable.

Maybe that's why I never heard my auger being noisy.

I gotta give it to you Tom. I never laugh out loud at posts, but you got me this time.

By the way, I tried that with my old home unit (five years old), and when I looked out the window smoke was rolling out of the hopper. This was not a burn back either. I have no idea what happened. I was in the process of letting all of the pellets clear the auger to shut it down and put on the cover. Guess I'll call Eddy tomorrow or Monday. Keep in mind, this is a five year old, pre-Cookshack model.

I wouldn't worry about the noise, just enjoy the smoker.

The sound you hear is just the auger eating some pellets. Mine does it all the time, and have not had any problems with it. I have met the guy Tom before Russ and I am still laughing at what I saw....LOL

Nope, ordered that Geer pit a year ago. I have no intention of abandoning pellets. They have just been too good to me. Thnx again for the laugh.
