Just got my new 008 today and I am in the process of seasoning it. Put in two chunks of wood that came with the smoker, set the temp at 225 and will let it burn for about 5 hours. My plan is to turn it off without opening the door and letting it cool down slowly. I will do some smoking tomorrow and my question is this, "Is peach wood a good wood for smoking?" I have some peach limbs that I have saved and would like to cut them into chunks and smoke with them. I would appreciate any advice anyone has on the subject. I am looking forward to many many years of enjoyable cooking!!

ps. really wanted to try a 50/50 mix of whole pecans shells and all and peach just to see.
Go figure!! I bought and planted a Bruce Plum bush. I later found out that the stock that they grafted to plum onto was peach stock. The first couple of years I would get a few plums and a lot of knobby peaches pits. Then the plums quit all together so I cut it down and will be using it to smoke with. With my 008 then my loss turns into my gain!!
