I don't remember anyone saying that it was better, but it has some different features that may suit other needs.

The heat source is from wood, with electric merely turning the pellet feeding auger.

It can therefore be used in most all the sanctioned cookoffs.

The traditional Cookshack can presently be used only in American Barbecue Assoc. cookoffs.

The pellet cooker can rapidly increase cooker temps,up to 450 or so.

With as many fine pellet cooks as we now have here,I'm sure there are some other personal things they like.
beach, good question.

It's not an either or. The pellet FE is an entire new line for Cookshack. It's not replacing the others, just a different line, for many of the reasons Tom explains.

It's also significantly more expensive and for a different market than the Smokette. Electric burning wood, vs. a Smoker that runs wood for heat source. The smokette is small and in the $400 price range. The FE, is substantially bigger, in size and price, over $2800 or so.

Hope that helps some.
