Not sure why you're asking, is your ignitor not working?
I put a handful in, light with the gel or just a blowtorch. You have to have a good enough fire going that the air from the fans doesn't blow the fire out.

No its working.Mine is a 2004 model.You have to restart for igniter to light.
I would suggest you speak with tech support at Cookshack on this. I have a 2004 FEC100 and do not need to restart for the ignitor to light. The ignitor comes on after 3-5 minutes from the smoker being turned on. The purpose of this was to allow pellets to be dumped into the fire pot by the impeller before the ignitor came on.
MY igniter comes on when you turn the smoker on.IT STAYES ON 3-4 Min and goes off. The pellets keep feeding .When enough pellets are in the pot you restart the smoker.
