Well our first comp is over and we survived. The skies opened up on Friday night and gave us 10 INCHES of rain overnight. Thankfully because of people like you I had my new cover on the FE and it performed flawlessely. We had our timing correct on all turn-ins and all was smooth. Best of all we got a call for 9th place brisket! Thanks again to everyone for helping beginners like me to get a call on my first event. Now its time to get ready for next weekends comp at Mount Vernon, IL.

Yeah, that was one hell of an experience. I went and competed with DD's BBQ, Dallas Parker. My FEC went out Friday night, but, not due to the rain, more that the controller went, but, it has been going out slowly, just picked the wrong time to go out. I took some pictures of some of the unfortunate people who are flooded out. Congrats on getting your call!!! Many more to come I am sure!! We were talking yesterday about having a "I survived Fairbanks Q For the Kids" and trying to help them out because they relied so much on the event for their fundraiser. They were all a great group of folks, and we look forward to going back next year.
