I have checked every store I can where I live the only woods available locally (store wise) are Hickory and Mesquite.
Ace sells oak hardwood charcoal.
I can buy Kiawe charcoal (mesquite on the mainland)
Kiawe gives you a real great taste on fowl beef and fish on a grill
Could a chunk of oak hard wood charcoal give out a great flavor as well if I put it in a smoker.
My thinking I get the wood flavor and the ring many talk about, but not all that important as I read too.
Thoughts?
