I'm seriously looking into getting a Cookshack smoker (SM008)...

I Live in Canada, So I'm wondering:

You guys who lives in Canada and ordered from Cookshack, since they are "Made in USA", did you still had to pay for customs fees ?? fed and/or prov taxes ?

if so, how much ?

And can someone provide me with some "all angles" pictures? because the one on the website are quite tiny!!

I would like to see the top panel (with the controls), the electric cord (for patio hookups preps), the inside and come side shots!!

I would assume so...you may want to call CS on that. HERE is their US site link. Cookshack smokers are the bulk of their products. They even sell the big FEC's and SM350's so they would have to be the real deal.
Well now I was impressed by the shipping...delivered in 6 business days!!! Eeker quite amazing!!

Now I don't want to run out of wood, I have the 5lbs of hickory that came with it...but I want to have some more...

I have 2 whole logs of sugar maple that I will cut in chunks like the cookshack ones...this should do ? In autumn I can probably put my hands on some apple wood, but until then...?

I will need more hickory and cherry...where to buy them ? The West coast BBQ store (the link above) seems to have only hickory on their canadian site ??

Do some canadian Cookshack owners could give me a good site where I can buy some wood ??

Another question, can I use coarse sawdust or woodchips in my SM008 ?

I live in northern Michigan which might be close to your environment, tree-wise. Other locals wood I have used other than maple are Hornbeam and Black Cherry. Hornbeam is a close cousin to Hickory and is used by some BBQ restaurants.

Living in Michigan for 28 years and traveling into Canada several times, there has to be places where you can go and collect oak and other varieties of hardwoods. Remember, it doesn't take a lot to do a smoke. An arm-load taken home and cut up whould last quite a while! "D
